Christian Dior Haute Couture- Spring Collection 2011

JOHN GALLIANO one of the most influential fashion designers of our time. Born in Gibraltar, he grew up in London and launched his own label before becoming chief designer of France's haute couture flagship, Christian Dior, in Paris.
It’s Haute Couture week again, John Galliano brings us Christian Dior's Spring/Summer '11 collection drawing inspiration from the renowned fashion illustrator René Gruau, an artist who became famous in the 1900s. John Galliano brought Gruau's drawings to life in his decadent interpretations offering beautiful, whimsical, feminine looks that remind you of classic Dior without replicating it outright.

American model Karlie Kloss ‘opened the Christian Dior show.

Describing the couture line,fashion analyst said, "Galliano evoked fashion illustration feel by reproducing the kind of shading one saw in mid-century illustration directly on the clothes themselves, so that many of the outfits are several shades of the same color, going from light to dark. We love the drama of the show, which was presented at the Musée Rodin on the Left Bank in Paris. We also love the rich red, and greens, as well as the greys and pale blues. A lovely and sophisticated palette. But mostly, we're just suckers for this kind of modern take on the glamorous and extremely feminine styles of the mid 20th Century".

Christian Dior Haute Couture  Spring/Summer ‘11 offer John Galliano 's whimsy in the form of pencil skirts, pleats, feather-embellished evening gowns, and vintage glamour. The color palette is rich with reds, greens, blues, and then pastel pink and yellow. It's fiercely feminine, as we'd expect, balancing outrageous volume with slim silhouettes; some is totally posh, more severe, then it softens — full of embellishment, oversize bows — to the all-out decadence of evening.
Almost  every colour was included from the deep reds that opened the show to nudes and neutral tones and dark greens, blues and the occasional pop of pink. The looks were retro fashion fantasy. Feast your eyes ;
